Production Blog 3 - Guilded Fletching
Hi again everyone! It's Tyler and I'm back with another Production Blog! During Sprint 3 the team has really taken off in terms of work completed and we could not be more proud of this! Completing 67 points during the Sprint, The Fletcher's Guild seems to only be making more and more progress each Sprint which couldn't make myself as well as Alex the Game Designer happier than ever. Well, without further ado, let's get into the awesome work we were able to accomplish this Sprint!
Programming:
This Sprint we were able to accomplish some great things on the Programming side of things. We were able to create a custom enemy spawner to give us the ability to test different player and enemy mechanics to ensure they are fine-tuned and ready for playtesting. We were also able to implement various option settings to allow players to adjust certain settings such as FOV and Mouse Sensitivity. On top of all of this, we were also able to create a serialization system within the game to allow players to create different save files as well as delete any progress they have made. Below are some amazing examples of the Programming work we accomplished!

Creating New Save File
Deleting Existing Save File
Level Design:
This Sprint we kept our Level Designers hard at work creating different annotated maps and blockouts of their annotated maps in order to have a healthy amount of levels for when the 3D Assets are ready to be implemented into these levels. We are extremely excited to complete all of these levels and have players playtest everything we have created! Below are some great examples of the work our Level Designers were able to accomplish during this Sprint.

3D Art:
During this Sprint, we had the 3D Modeling Team working extremely hard on modeling and texturing our arrows. In this time we were able to get an amazing-looking Standard Arrow and Bramble Arrow. These are two of the four arrows we have in our game, moving forward we will be modeling and texturing the other two arrows. During this time we were also able to texture the Player's Bow as well as the Player's Hands, which are the two assets that will be seen more often than anything else in this game. We were so happy with the way these two came out, while they weren't without their complications these will be some of the best-looking assets in Guilded Fletching and we could not be any happier with how they turned out! Please look below at the absolutely amazing work Falcon and Angel were able to complete!

2D Art:
This Sprint Haley seemed to be working in overdrive, completing an insane amount of work this Sprint. In these past two weeks, Haley has been able to create the UI icons for each arrow that will be used in-game as well as complete all of the Concept Art for each of the three enemies. The way they all came out is absolutely fantastic, Alex and I could not be happier seeing these and couldn't be more excited for you all to play and see all of the amazing art we've had made! Below are excellent examples of Haley's work, I'll let the quality of her work speak for itself.

Animation:
This Sprint we were able to get a great-looking animation into the game! The Charging Bow animation will play whenever a player is holding down the firing key (Default: LMB) to indicate they are pulling back and charging an arrow to fire at greater speeds and cover more distance than an arrow that is not being pulled back on the bow. In the next Sprint, we are hopeful to have more of the core animations such as a walking, idle, firing, and death animations, however, below is an amazing example of the animation we were able to complete this Sprint!
Charging Bow Animation
Over the course of this Sprint, we were able to accomplish some amazing things and I could not be happier with The Fletcher's Guild. Every Sprint we are able to complete more and more work which is nothing short of excellence and a great work ethic on the team's part. Alex and I could not be more proud of the quality of work that is being produced and I absolutely cannot wait to show you all what comes out of our Fourth Sprint!
Stay Safe, Take Care, and Keep Gaming! Talk to you all again soon.
