Postmortem Final Blog
Hi everyone, this is going to be the final installment to these blogposts and i just want to say thank you to this entire team. I am sure all of you wanted to be directly associated with a game team but I am honestly so happy that we got placed onto a team dynamic like this. In the actual gaming industry you will most likely have a producer that mans over a specific team like a 2d art team and that will be it, you wont be associated with programmers or level designers, only 2d Art usually. So I think if you take anything from this experience, just remember that this was the most realistic dynamic of being in an actual job in the industry.
So since this is a postmortem I want to go over some very big issues that had gone wrong?
Nothing about this semester was going to be easy for us and going into this I knew that we were going to have a lot stacked against us to get done. One big problem that persisted till the end was the animation side of things, the problems occurred early on and they just seemed to always get stuck on rigging issues throughout the entire development process. Another problem that occurred was the moving of cards without asking me, it was a problem that got cleared up quickly but it was just one of those things you have to remember in the development progress.
But lets talk about what went right?
The art team side of things did absolutely amazing, they all absolutely busted out work and just did such amazing job. The amount of work that was being demanded of them was so overwhelming for them all but this team took it on themselves and produced such high quality work that the other teams were amazed by.
While the animation team did struggle, there was a lot of animation made by the team that was used and at the end of it all I am happy that they were able to do what they did.
Now I want to talk about what my team did for this final sprint.
