Producer Blog #5


Hello, and welcome to the fifth producer blog of Robot Riot! My name is Miciah Coley and I am excited to share all of the hard work my team has put in throughout the sprint. Robot Riot has 14 members and our design of the game came from our game designer, Marisa Moreno. If you want to learn more about what went into our design process you are welcome to take a look here. 

Robot Riot is a competitive battle royale game in which you will face off against another player, collecting various weapons and powers ups to fight them in battle and win. The game takes place in the main facility of Atonal Industries, a robot manufacturer that also specializes in quirky weaponry props. Players will square off against each other in a best of three lives on four different levels to determine who is the best robot. 

With our vision out of the way. Let’s talk about the work that was completed during the sprint.

Modeling

Our goal this sprint was just adding in models throughout all of the levels just to add more depth to each of the levels. We also wanted to get more props to fit the West theme of being Western. So let’s take a look at some of the hard work from my team:

Programming

This sprint I had my programmers focus on adding sounds into the game, adding weapon UI for visual feedback, more smooth mechanics. Here’s a look at that work:

Level Designers

Our level designers this sprint were tasked with polishing The West, incorporating more lighting into The Village, and making some more environmental models. Let’s take a look at some of the hard work they got done:

This sprint we wanted to get some more Visual feedback for the players with more 2D sprites, more victory screens, and we even got some wanted posters for the west. Let’s take a look at the team's hard work:

This sprint our goals were to get L3 and Flea to hold weapons while playing animations, to get all of Rems animations done , and to get all of Tankers animations done. Conclusion

In our fifth sprint we completed 143 points out of 160. I am proud of the work my team has been doing and I can’t wait for our beta build this upcoming sprint. Until next time.
