Producer Blog #3
Hello, and welcome to the third producer blog of Robot Riot! My name is Miciah Coley and I am excited to share all of the hard work my team has put in throughout the sprint. Robot Riot has 14 members and our design of the game came from our game designer, Marisa Moreno. If you want to learn more about what went into our design process you are welcome to take a look here.
Robot Riot is a competitive battle royale game in which you will face off against another player, collecting various weapons and powers ups to fight them in battle and win. The game takes place in the main facility of Atonal Industries, a robot manufacturer that also specializes in quirky weaponry props. Players will square off against each other in a best of three lives on four different levels to determine who is the best robot.
With our vision out of the way. Let’s talk about the work that was completed during the sprint.
Modeling
Our third level is called The Oasis, which is a level with a Greco- Roman style design. Our main priority for our modelers this sprint was to get the rest of our robot models done, make the props for the oasis, and make the buildings for The Oasis. We had two people working on robot models and the rest of the team worked on getting our props and buildings into the level. Here’s a look at the work that was completed during the sprint.

Programming
This sprint I had my programmers focus on adjusting our gameplay from our playtest data. So they updated our UI such as health, boost, adding a crosshair, death barrier etc. On top of that I had my programmers programming the rest of our power ups, weapons, and hazards. Here’s some of the work from our programmers.
Riley Pursell
Rodrigo
Jacob Meddings
Level Designers
Our level designers this sprint were tasked with bringing The Oasis to life. They started off with the usually annotated map, blockout, environment and prop models built. Here’s the work that they completed this sprint.
Carl Moreno
Alex Rico
2D Art
This sprint we wanted to get some more UI made for our game. So our 2D artist drew up some You win/You lose screens, some customs made buttons, and a main menu screen. Here’s the work completed during the sprint.
Christina Steller
Veronica Leon Guerrero
Animation
This sprint we had some models that needed to get rigged, some animations to get done, and VFX that need to be done. Next sprint we wanted to be able to use animations in our gameplay and to do that we needed to get our animations done on Flea and L3. So here’s the work completed in Sprint 4:
Nathan Kreiger
Rigging
For this sprint I got two additional members to my team. That was Dominick and Mari who are both riggers and animators. This sprint we got L3 Bot Mode animations such as strafe, backwards, forwards, and jump animations.
Mari
Dominick Guarin
Sound Design
For the first in production we finally had a sound designer so we were able to add some audio into our game. We wanted to make sounds for our weapons, hazards, and powerups so that players would have auditory feedback in the game. Here is the work completed from that sprint.
Balloon Impact Sword Swing Drink Glug
Electric Trap Glug for Oil Canister Ice Trap
Power Candy Trap placing sound
Phae Peterson
Conclusion
In our second sprint we completed a total of 134 points out of 151 . In the next sprint we want to code our sound into the game, a fully animated Flea and L3, start building out the west, and polishing our main mechanics.
