Production Blog #6

Statistics

190 points were assigned this sprint with 144 points completed, which leaves 46 points leftover that were assigned but not moved. The average velocity is still at 146 points per sprint. We’re on our last sprint now after this, and according to our average velocity we should be set to finish on time for turn-in. Any cards left over are either “wish” cards or tasks that got scrapped earlier on after changing the scope of the game.

Programming

Programming tasks this sprint were mostly focused around implementing things into the game. There are now more buildable robots in the workbench and the 3D printer is now purchasable in the upgrades menu. When you buy a 3D printer, it will automatically get placed inside of the workshop for you to use. The rogue bot’s animations have now been implemented as well so the enemy has a lot more character.

3D Modeling

A few more buildable robots have been modeled, such as the military robot, maid, and turtle.

Our modelers mainly created environment props for this sprint. To bring more personality to the workshop there are now succulents, an office chair, a mini-fridge, and a rubik’s cube. A futuristic car and a dirt sink have also been incorporated into the scrapyard as well.

2D Design

The game poster and artwork for our itch page has been created by our talented artists!

Level Design

Our designers have filled in more of the scrapyard, adding in parkour sections and scavenger enemy bases. The game is really coming to life!
