In The Drop, players take control of hypebeast, someone who closely follows the latest fashion trends. Players roam the streets of their home city fighting rival hypebeast to earn money. They can spend this money at popular storefronts to acquire the hottest new clothing items, but the player isn’t interested in simply keeping these items. Instead, players can find buyers who will purchase their clothing for an increased price netting them more money in the process. 

Players will encounter bruisers who actively look to fight them, ranged enemies who throw bricks, and scalpers who will attempt to buy up stock of clothing items before the player can get to it. To fend off these enemies players can both punch and kick, but also buy items that allow them to perform powerful attacks. Players are equipped with their mobile phone which can be used to check their inventory, location, and where to sell their items.
