Knighty Night Has Finished Development!
After many long nights, weeks of work, and some laughs along the way, Knighty Night has officially finished up development. Our last sprint was full of work and we finished up many of the aspects that we were hoping to complete. So let’s jump into it and show you what we got done for our final sprint of the game. *Side note I can’t show off too much of what we worked on as there are some major spoilers in them*
General Updates:
- Fixed a bunch of bugs both game breaking and tiny ones
- Most bugs are out of the game aside from some small visual ones
- All boss intros were added to the game
- Lots of sounds added
- Projectiles from the Cathedral Shooting Ghost know visually reflect in the other direction when the player hits them
Level Select Update:
The final version of the level select was put into the game and it looks a lot better than our original temp art (as one would hope!). This will display your current progress in the game and allow you to revisit sections of the game that you have already beaten, starting at the beginning of a theme.
Hard Mode Values are Now in for the Final Game:
For those of you who are like me and the bosses just aren’t quite hard enough then you’ll have a blast with hard mode (I mean if you like losing over and over again.). The new hard mode values were added to the new bosses that we added and their associated mini-bosses. So are you up to the challenge?
Mini Games:
The mini-games that we created are all finished up. Our first mini-game is fully implemented into the game and we hope you guys enjoy it! Our second one, unfortunately, will not be in the final build of the game as we are experiencing a weird bug with it. However, we hope to patch it back into the game at some point because it’s basically done already. As to how you are supposed to access these mini-games, I’ll leave that up to you guys to figure out.
The Sweet Sound of…. Sound:
We did a full overhaul and added sounds to many aspects of the game. Along with this we went ahead and added background music and epic boss music. This was a long needed change and we are so happy to finally add it to the game. Not every aspect of the game has sound because we technically don’t have a sound designer on our team, but there is definitely way more audio in the game now. We hope you enjoy the new audio in the game!
The Last of the Models:
The modeling team was pretty much finished with all of their assets for the game but there were a few more we wanted to add for a little bit more flare. All of these assets are just decorative but they give their perspective environments a nice visual upgrade.
The Last Animations:
These are the last few animations that we needed to make for the game. Along with the final cutscene of the game. You’ll have to use your imaginations with the boss intros because they had some aspects done in engine by our programmers to make them complete. But here is what they look like:
Final Cathedral Boss Intro:
*He is going to be sucking ghosts in and spitting them out*
Boss Death Animation:
Sewer Boss Intro:
*He is going to be eating ghosts along the way*
Before and After Shots:
The last thing I want to show you guys is some before and after shots of the game. To show you where it started in some aspects and how it has changed. Overall, we think it looks and feels a lot better and we hope you think so too. Out with the old and in with the new!

A Final Goodbye:
As you can see from the before and after shots, we have come a long way from when we originally started. We have put so much time and effort to make this game the best that it can be. We are super proud of it and hope that you guys will enjoy it as well!
We also completed a lot of other work this sprint but a lot of it is relevant to the end of the game and we don’t want to spoil that for you. So you’ll have to jump into the game and find out what other cool stuff we added!
This is the last post for Knighty Night, thank you for following along with us on this journey!
Sincerely,
The Knighty Night Development Team
